Mismo Productions was started in 2019 by Mick Torres and Ashley Argota Torres, who are married in real life. They plan on using Mismo Productions to create films, television shows, and more with each other and their extremely talented friends.

After writing the movie while pregnant, starting pre-production while their son was 6 weeks old, and filming when he was 7 months old, the couple can proudly say that Mismo Production’s debut feature film is in the can!
Mick and Ashley’s first project together was their podcast, Mismo, where they interview artists and creatives about their day to day lives to show everyone that no matter where you are in your career, we are all uniquely the same. Mick and Ashley co-host the show and have done almost one hundred interviews. Mismo currently has more than 16,000 listens and can be found on all podcast platforms.
“The Kindness Of Strangers” is based on the true story of Ashley’s escape from her narcissistic mom after 22 years of abuse and manipulation. The script, the first written by Mick and Ashley for Mismo Productions, won the 2023 Asian American International Screenwriting Award in addition to earning many accolades from the screenwriting festival circuit.
